More about Yitzhak Dov(id)'s family:

Joseph Polewsky's family immigrated to America in the early 1900s and settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where much of the family still resides today. However, immigration records show that they had a brief stay in New York City, possibly just a brief stopover on the way to Milwaukee, with Abraham Tvzi and family.

Despite a small discrepancy in the gravestones of Joseph and Abraham Tzvi, where Joseph's says his father was Yitzhak Dovid and Abraham Tzvi's says his father was Yitzhak Dov, we believe these two men were brothers based on the New York family's recollection of having close relatives in Milwaukee. We hope to find additional records to confirm that these men were brothers.

Abraham Tzvi was born around 1870 in Grodno, Russia to Yitzhak Dov and Jessie/Tessie? (non-anglicized name unknown) Palefsky. He married Chaje Varkoff, son of Velvel, in the early 1890s. They had two children in Kobrin: Velvel and Itzchok.

Abraham immigrated to America, by way of Quebec, Canada. He left Quebec on June 14, 1905 via the D&H Railroad and arrived in Rouses Point, NY on June 15, 1905.

Chaje, Wolf and Itzko Palewski departed Southampton, England on the S.S. St. Louis on April 8, 1905 and arrived in New York on April 16, 1905. They were going to their husband/father Abraham Palewski at 47 Allen Street or 108 Forsyth Street.

Abraham and Ida had two more children in New York, Goldie and Shirley. Ida died in NY in 1910, shortly after Shirley was born. Abraham then married Gussie Wolfson, and they had three more children: Samuel, Yetta and Morris.
